Brassica Oleracea Kohlrabi is easy to grow and gives the same awesome health benefits as the rest of its cabbage family. This early type purple vienna variety has a purple-skinned exterior, greenish-white interior.
Kohlrabi has a crisp texture that's white on the interior and is delicious sauteed, in stir fry's and salads. The flavor has been compared to apples, mild turnips, broccoli and radish.
Purple Vienna, also known as Di Vienna Violetto, predates 1860 and is presumably from Austria. This variety is deemed particularly stunning in the garden also, seemingly glowing at certain times of the day.
